Tonight is the Wolf Moon, a name given to the first full moon of January by the Sioux tribe. With a full moon looming in the evening’s plans, it feels like a good time to give a small WHERE WOLF-related update.
First things first, a physical edition of WHERE WOLF is coming this year. I’m very close to signing a deal with a great publisher to put out physical copies of the comic. In conjunction with the book’s launch later this year, I’m also planning an ambitious tour I’m calling “Werewolves Across America.” Over the course of several months, I will visit over thirty cities and screen a different werewolf movie at a movie theater in each city, signing copies of WHERE WOLF before and after the screening. AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON, THE HOWLING, SILVER BULLET, GINGER SNAPS - as well as some deeper cuts, of course. It’s going to be a great way to visit a bunch of new cities, get the word out about the book and do what I do best, share movies I love with an audience.
In addition to planning this tour, I am actively at work with the original WHERE WOLF creative team on new chapters of the story. I’m calling the sequel THE CURSE OF THE WHERE WOLF and, if you’ve read WHERE WOLF to the very end, you can guess what the title hints at. I’ve written the scripts for the twelve new chapters and the first chapter is 100 percent illustrated and lettered. Here’s a small preview:
Yep, THE CURSE OF THE WHERE WOLF will be in full color! I loved the black and white aesthetic for the original volume, but I’m really excited to see what series artist Debora Lancianese is doing with color and letterer Jack Morelli’s work really pops off the page against that color background.
Finally, I’ll leave you with a small look at the inks I just got in from Debora today for Chapter 14:
So, happy Wolf Moon! I can’t wait to share more WHERE WOLF news with you very soon.
