Look what I spotted in a Barnes and Noble this past weekend!
WHERE WOLF is now being carried at four Houston-area Barnes and Noble locations - Town & Country, Pearland, Pasadena and Baybrook. A huge thank you to Kevin Robinson who helped get WHERE WOLF stocked in these stores.
I’m at the stage of my relationship with WHERE WOLF where I just get excited at the idea that folks are reading the comic. What once just existed as thoughts in my head has now transubstantiated into paper and ink and is sitting in bookshelves and libraries across the country. This is a special type of honor that I hope I never become blasé about.
Speaking of bookstores and shout-outs, a massive thank you to Keaton Patterson from Brazos Bookstore who continues to support WHERE WOLF. I stopped by the other day and saw this incredibly kind “Staff Picks” card.
In other H-Town news, WHERE WOLF is now being carried by the Houston Public Library system. I tried to go by and take a picture of the book in its new natural setting, but it wasn’t on the shelf. Presumably (hopefully) because somebody was reading it. If you have a Houston library card and want to read WHERE WOLF, you can reserve a copy here.
A week from today, I’ll be repping WHERE WOLF at Fantastic Fest. Along with Ghoulish Books’ Max Booth III, I helped organize a book fair at my favorite film festival. This event - which runs from 2 PM to 4 PM in the Highball - is inspired by the Scholastic Book Fairs of our youth. We’ve assembled a great group of Texas-based writers and artists who will be selling their books, comics and ‘zines at the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar in Austin. You don’t have to have a badge to check out the book fair, so - if you live in or near Austin - come out and grab something new to read. You can find out more information here.
As a reminder, I have two events coming up in October: Bedrock City Comic Con on October 7 and 8 in Stafford, TX and a screening of the Brazillian werewolf gem GOOD MANNERS at the Museum of Fine Arts - Houston on Friday, October 27.
A huge thank you to everybody who has supported WHERE WOLF so far on its journey. I’m coming up on a year since the last chapter of the story was published as a webcomic on FANGORIA’s website. It’s been a wild ride and I can’t wait to share more stories in the WHERE WOLF universe. If you haven’t left a review on Amazon or Goodreads, please consider it. It all helps so dang much.
Before I leave y’all for the week, here’s a sneak preview of some new WHERE WOLF artwork by superstar and my personal hero Debora Lancianese.
More soon but, in the meantime, beware the moon!
